About Dr. Fazekas
Dr. Fazekas received his PH.D. degree in Clinical Psychology from the University of Southern Mississippi. His internship was followed by extensive post-doctoral training in psychotherapy & neuropsychology. His doctoral dissertation focused on the self-regulation component of ADHD. In an effort to integrate medical with psychological aspects of care, he returned to school and obtained an accelerated BS in Nursing, followed by a Master of Science as a Family Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner.

Dr. Fazekas is licensed in New York State both as a Clinical Psychologist and Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner. He obtained full prescription privileges in 2002, authorizing him to prescribe controlled and noncontrolled drugs within the specialty of psychiatric medicine. He also performs physical assessments, & orders/interprets relevant medical tests/lab work (EEGs, EKGs, blood levels, toxicology screens, etc.)

He is a Clinical Assistant Professor, D’Youville College Graduate School in the Psychiatric-Mental Health Nurse Practitioner Program. He teaches Advanced Psychopharmacology, Neuroscience of Clinical Psychiatry, & Foundations of Psychiatric Practice.

Dr. Fazekas has been an independent consultant in several outpatient psychiatric clinics in WNY since 2002, where he has provided psychiatric evaluations and medication management to children, adolescents, and adults.
